SINOPSIS
Responding to the theme proposed by the curator of the Venice Biennale 2014, Rem Koolhaas, «Absorbing modernity», the Romanian Pavilion brings industrial architecture as generator of modernity. The "Site Under Construction" team invites to an initiatory journey from inter-war and socialist industrialization (THE PAST - reflected in images from the 11 channels video-installations with archive footage) to post-industrial urban voids (THE PRESENT - reflected in the white space of the hyperboloid "islands", referring to the silhouette of old industrial cooling towers).
